Who am I? A good question to ask yourself every now and again, and especially germane at the beginning of a new year and the launching of a new blog that I’m really excited about. This will be an opportunity for me to share new work, beginnings, interesting visual discoveries, thoughts, words, travels and anything that comes along that serves as inspiration. I welcome the same from you and hope there will be some interesting dialogues started and that through this sharing we all come out a bit more enriched and wiser. For me, this exercise is a formalization of a lifelong exploration in the visual arts. My education in architecture and urban planning has inspired my photography to be motivated primarily by place or environment. That, along with a very specific process that serves this mission. The intersection of human presence and activity within those environments, helps me interpret and fashion a fresh definition of the concept of landscape, within a specific time and point of view. A natural outcome of this, is the idea of the ‘environmental portrait‘. More on that, in the ‘about‘ section of this site and in future posts.
My image chosen for this post, is metaphor for the extension of one’s vision beyond the horizon toward ‘other worlds’ of imagination that are often in plain site right before us. Please tune in when you can and let me know what you’re thinking and feeling….
